There is one segment of the University community that spends far more time on campus then most of us humans do – because they make our work place a home.
The University of Malta’s feline population, which consists of nearly 100 cats – warms the hearts of many, but few are the dedicated ones who give them round-the-clock care 24/7, 365 days a year.
This festive season, the Marketing Communications and Alumni Office paid tribute to some of these cat feeders, who take time out of their private schedules to feed these cats, and make sure they are living their best life.
Newspoint met Ms Rachelle Mifsud, Administrator II at MCAO, Roza Zammit Salinos and Rita Borg, two retired UM employees who still visit the campus daily after 30 years of cat feeding, Dr Fabrizio Foni and Dr Irene Incarico from the Department of Italian, a self-proclaimed couple of cat lovers, and Stefania Micallef, an Administration Specialist within the Faculty of Education.
