On Monday 21 December 2020, members of the University of Malta Rowing Club successfully managed to complete a 12-hour rowing marathon which they organised in conjunction with the Lebanon Rowing Federation.

The rowing marathon was done in aid of reBuildreRow campaign.

Parliamentary Secretary for Sport, Recreation and Voluntary Organisations, Clifton Grima, said this marathon brings out a number of values such as those of solidarity and of volunteering, both of which are alive and well in the Maltese society.

President of the UM Rowing Club, Ms Rebekah Caruana, expressed her satisfaction at this successful collaboration of rowers from around 10 different countries who came together to support friends.

In the years 2019/2020, SportMalta and the Parliamentary Secretariat for Sport, Recreation and Voluntary Organisations financed more than €7,000 in gym equipment.
