The Centre for the Study & Practice of Conflict Resolution has organised its annual Albabtain Distinguished Lecture for Peace in association with the Office of the President of Malta on the 27 April 2023 at San Anton Palace, Attard. The aims of the lecture are to promote a culture of peace and dialogue.

This year’s lecture was delivered by Prof. Richard Rubinstein from the Carter School of Conflict Resolution at George Mason University, with whom the Centre for the Study & Practice of Conflict Resolution runs a dual degree masters programme at the Valletta campus. Prof. Rubinstein’s lecture on ‘The Persistent Weakness of Peace Movements’, with an introduction by the Centre’s Director, Prof. Gordon Sammut, is available on the UM YouTube channel.
