Public Lecture - Dr Eric Barends - Evidence Based Management - What is it, Why do we need it, and How does it look like in practice?
The Department of Health Systems Management and Leadership, Faculty of Health Sciences organised a Public Lecture entitled “Evidence Based Management - What is it, Why do we need it, and How does it look like in practice?" on the 27 April 2023, at Mater Dei Hospital. The main speaker of the public lecture was Eric G. R. Barends Ph.D., Managing Director Center for Evidence-Based Management. The interactive public lecture was attended by an interdisciplinary group of healthcare professionals.
The public lecture was also addressed by Prof. Sandra C. Buttigieg, Head of Department of Health Systems Management and Leadership.
Workshop - Dr Eric Barends - Getting Started with Evidence-Based Management
The Department of Health Systems Management and Leadership, Faculty of Health Sciences in collaboration with the Department of Business & Enterprise Management, Faculty of Economics, Management & Accountancy, University of Malta has organised a full-day workshop titled “Getting Started with Evidence-Based Management" on the 28 April 2023, at the Gateway Building, University of Malta. The facilitator of the workshop was Eric G. R. Barends Ph.D. Managing Director Center for Evidence-Based Management. The interactive workshop was attended by an interdisciplinary group of healthcare professionals and students in management who participated as teams in discussions on topics raised during the workshop.
Eric Barends Ph.D. is the managing director of the Center for Evidence-Based Management. He has twenty years of management experience, fifteen years at the senior management level, including five years as an executive. He advises and coaches managers, senior leaders, and executive boards of large and medium sized companies and non-profit organizations on evidence-based decision-making. In addition, he frequently runs training courses on this topic and serves as a fellow at NYU Wagner School of Public Service, and as an honorary associate professor at ANU Research School of Management.
