A presentation of certificates was held at St Vincent de Paule (SVP) long term care facility to celebrate 70 students who successfully completed their studies in two study-units, namely LAS1101 – Care of the Elderly: Theory and Practice and LAS1102 – Dementia Care Practice.
This is the result of a collaborative agreement between the Centre for the Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS) directed by Prof. David Mifsud and the Management of SVP.
During the ceremony held on 8 May 2023, certificates were presented to the seventy students by the Hon. Dr Jo Etienne Abela, Minister for Active Ageing, Prof. Tanya Sammut Bonnici, Pro-Rector for Strategic Planning and Enterprise at UM, and Dr Josianne Cutajar, CEO at SVP.
During the current academic year, 2022/23, CLAS is providing a total of 34 stand-alone units to a cohort of 405 students, a countless attainment for this Centre which has recently celebrated its ninth birthday.
