The annual TRAKE research seminar organised by the Faculty of Engineering was held on Wednesday 3 May 2023, showcasing a number of very interesting, highly interdisciplinary projects covering a range of topics; from aero engines to smart wheelchair, from novel implant designs to sustainable tooling.
The Pro-Rector for Research and Knowledge Transfer, Prof. Simon Fabri, and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Ing. Andrew Sammut, who welcomed the researchers, project leaders and attendees, lauded the opportunity for knowledge exchange, the ambitious targets set by these projects and the general commitment to ensure that the infrastructural investment made through TRAKE is coupled with scholarly research output. Following the welcome messages, the attendees were invited to the two parallel sessions which were chaired by the Dean and by the Deputy Dean of Engineering, Prof. Glenn Cassar. During these sessions, the research support officers enrolled on the projects updated the audience on the progress made during the last year and outlined key results. The researchers also outlined how the work carried out contributed to the deliverables set for each project.
