Shi Weiping and Ye Lizhen, two academics, from the Foreign Language Center of the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China, visited the UM through the Erasmus+ ICM programme of the University of Malta.

They received training in translation and interpretation teaching, translation technology and intercultural communication skills. Both academics had the opportunity to discuss further collaboration and met with the students of the Department of Translation, Terminology & Interpretation Studies. Moreover, they visited the UM’s Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, the Confucius Institute and the Centre for Traditional Chinese Medicine. 

Following the training mobility, a deeper understanding on the current situation of medical education at the UM, as well as the development and promotion of Chinese medicine and Chinese culture to the outside world was acquired.
