Huge congratulations go to University of Malta student Maja Theuma and alumnus Antonio Flores, who are on Team Malta for the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. Their names were announced by the Malta Paralympic Committee on Wednesday 21 August 2024.
The Games kicked off with the Opening Ceremony on Wednesday, 28 August, and concluded on Sunday, 8 September.

Theuma made her debut at the Paralympics by competing in the 50 metres freestyle S6 heats at La Défense Arena, completing the one-lap race in 1:13:10.
24-year-old Maja swims with Exiles SC and has already competed in national and international championships for the last six years. She has established national records in the freestyle (50m, 100m, 200m and 400m) and backstroke (50m and 100m) events.
34-year-old Flores is one of Malta’s longest-standing competitive Para athletes with over 15 years of experience at local and international level. This will be his second time participating at the Paralympic Games.
The team were being accompanied by Coach Edward Caruana Dingli (Exiles SC), Team Doctor Dr Danica Bonello Spiteri, and Vladyslava Kravchenko, a two-time Paralympian and Malta Paralympic Committee Treasurer, who is also a candidate for the International Paralympic Committee Athletes' Council elections. Kravchenko represented Malta in Para swimming at both the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
