Prof. JosAnn Cutajar, Chair of the Gender Equality and Sexual Diversity Committee within the Department of Gender and Sexualities at the Faculty for Social Wellbeing, has been asked to join the Association of Commonwealth Universities' Higher Education Taskforce working group on Access and Inclusion in HE.
The Taskforce which has been recently set up, will support Commonwealth member states in the realisation of the education policy commitments made at the 21st Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers (CCEM) while driving forward policy implementation.
This taskforce is dedicated to driving transformative change in higher education by addressing critical challenges such as equal access and inclusion, with a focus on gender and disability. It explores innovative funding and finance strategies to make education more affordable and sustainable. The taskforce also emphasises the role of higher education in sustainable development by fostering research eco-systems that drive progress. Bridging the digital divide is another key priority, ensuring access to technology and AI-powered learning for all. Additionally, the taskforce champions entrepreneurship and skills development, equipping students for the future.
