Prof. Rosienne Farrugia and Matthew Vella, a PhD student at the University of Malta, recently attended the MSCA SE CardioSCOPE and COST Action CA21153 (AtheroNET) Training school "Omics for Precision Medicine in ASCVD" in Heraklion, Greece, where they delivered a number of lectures and workshops.
Prof. Rosienne Farrugia gave a lecture on “Genomics Research in Atherosclerosis: Next Generation Sequencing and Applications.” Matthew Vella gave a lecture on “Bioinformatics Tools for the analysis of RNA-Seq Data,” and then 2 workshops on “Bioinformatic Analysis of RNA-Seq Data (hands-on).”
Both Prof. Rosienne Farrugia and Matthew Vella are working on the TargetMI project, an EU EIC pathfinder project led by Prof. Stephanie Bezzina Wettinger and dedicated to identifying novel biomarkers and drug targets for Myocardial Infarction.
This summer school was organised as part of the COST Action CA21153 (AtheroNET) supported by COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology). COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is a funding agency for research and innovation networks. COST Actions help connect research initiatives across Europe and enable scientists to grow their ideas by sharing them with their peers. This boosts their research, career and innovation.
