ICAE leaders, past and present, met in the Faculty of Education Boardroom, University of Malta on Monday 4 November and Tuesday 5 November, 2024, for the second Global Adult Education Seminar held in Malta.
This was hosted by the UNESCO Chair in Global Adult Education, University of Malta. It was convened and coordinated by Prof. Peter Mayo, the Chair holder. This is an annual event held every November. This year's focus was The International Council for Adult Education (ICAE) which celebrates its 51st year.
ICAE partners with the UNESCO Chair in producing Convergence: An International Adult Education Journal. The UNESCO Chair revived this Journal at Volume 43. No 1 after its long hiatus. It has been the ICAE 's flagship journal since its inception under the direction of the legendary Prof. J.Roby Kidd.

Also addressing the seminar online were Prof. Darlene Clover, former ICAE leading figure, University of Victoria, BC, Canada and Prof. Budd L.Hall, O.C., University of Victoria, BC, Canada, for many years General Secretary of ICAE and key founding figure in Participatory Action Research. A technical hitch prevented Prof. Shermaine Barrett, ICAE official, Kingston University of Technology from intervening online.
