The International Institute on Ageing, United Nations-Malta, in collaboration with the Department of Gerontology (Faculty for Social Wellbeing, University of Malta), is organising the conference 'Gerontological and Dementia Care in Malta and Gozo: Present and Future Challenges'. The Conference will be held at the Intercontinental Hotel, St Julian's, Malta, on 7 December 2018.
The International Institute on Ageing, United Nations-Malta, and the Department of Gerontology constitute academic professional organisations that promote policy-oriented, empirical, and theoretical research in gerontological, geriatric and dementia care both within, and beyond, the Maltese Islands.
Over 5,000 candidates have read graduate and short-term programmes organised by these two entities since 1990. Academic members of staff within these entities have published various articles in peer-reviewed journals and books, and also support the International Journal on Ageing in Developing Countries.

The Call for abstracts is now open.
Candidates are required to submit a separate form for each abstract or poster they wish to submit.
Each submitted abstract will go through a blind review process by three track chairs (gerontological / geriatric / dementia care) appointed by the Scientific Committee.
The Scientific Committee has the final decision on the inclusion of abstracts and posters for the conference.
Deadlines
The submission deadline for your abstract is: 15 July 2018.
A reply will be sent out to all applicants by: 15 August 2018.
Following a positive reply, applicants have until 15 September 2018 to register for the conference.
