The Office for Human Resources Management & Development will be offering a First Aid Course for all UM members of staff. This course will mainly be held online, with the final practical session to be held on campus.
The Office will be adopting additional health & safety procedures to ensure that the practical session is held in a safe manner and a smaller number of participants will be accepted.
This course will cover a broad range of topics to enable participants to confidently manage emergency situations, provide a first aid response to a casualty, delegate tasks to bystanders, and engage and inform the emergency services. This course covers first aid protocols for adults, children and infants. This course provides a comprehensive set of practical skills needed by first aiders.

By the end of this training the participants will be:
- able to recognise life-threatening situations
- able to offer vital assistance before more professional help arrives
- able to provide single-person CPR on an adults, children and babies
- qualified as a workplace first aid person.
