The theme of the competition is: With IP, we can dream of a better future, turn our ideas into reality and create a world where everyone strives to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Entries can be submitted by an individual or a group of up to 10 people. Individual entries must be submitted by individuals aged between 18 and 34 years (on the closing date for entries) while groups must have one member aged under 35 (on the closing date for entries). The full list of rules can be found online.
Submissions must consist of a 60 to 90-second long video in MP4 format that showcases how an inventor, creator, entrepreneur, or local community near you is shaping a better future for all with innovation, creativity, and intellectual property (IP) rights in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The participants must hold all the rights in their video entry and must have obtained permission to use any third-party content that it may include. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their entries via the WIPO website by 10 March 2024 and are kindly asked to notify the Knowledge Transfer Office of their participation by email.
The work will subsequently be reviewed by a jury who will evaluate the videos based on their adherence to the theme, expression of the theme, originality, creativity, messaging and visual appeal, among other factors. Short-listed videos will also be submitted to an online public vote to identify the winner of the People’s Choice Prize.
