The International Summer School on AI and Games comes to Malta from 17-21 June 2024!

The University of Malta is offering 10 full scholarships for UM students to attend the event. Selected applicants will have their registration fee waived.

The event will be held at the University of Malta Valletta Campus between 17 and 21 June 2024. Organised by modl.ai and Keywords Studios and sponsored by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the Summer School combines lectures on state-of-the-art AI techniques and a game industry summit. Talks and workshops will be by Keywords Studios, Ubisoft, Massive Entertainment, Microsoft, Arm, AI and Games, modl.ai, and several renowned independent game AI developers from around the world.

The Institute of Digital Games was instrumental in starting the International Summer School on AI and Games, which has captivated the minds of nearly a thousand participants over the years. The event provides a unique blend of knowledge exchange and hands-on learning through a game AI hackathon following the lectures and workshops. Past editions of the Summer School have been hosted all around the world from Crete to New York. Last year, Microsoft Research in Cambridge hosted this summer school, and this year, the organisers are excited to bring the event to Malta.
