Expanding Research Horizons: Access2Partnerships (A2P) Scheme 2025 is NOW OPEN!

Xjenza Malta is proud to launch the Access2 Partnerships (A2P) Scheme 2025, offering Malta-based researchers and innovators an opportunity to participate in transnational R&I projects within various Horizon Europe Partnerships where Malta is not an official funding partner.

With a national budget allocation of €300,000 per project, A2P supports local stakeholders in building international collaborations, enhancing their R&I capabilities, and contributing to cutting-edge research in various strategic fields, including health, climate, energy and mobility, digital technologies, food and bio-economy, natural resources, and environment.

Funding Opportunities:

• Support for Malta-based self-funded partners up to €300,000 per project (first-come, first-served basis)
• Assistance with administrative processes, including Letter of Intent for eligible applicants. This letter may be required during the Partnership’s pre-proposal submission as proof of funds availability for the self-funded partner.

Application Process

Applicants must:
  • Have successfully passed the international administrative and scientific evaluation of a Joint Transnational Call.
  • Submit a complete national application to A2P Scheme at least 15 working days before the JTC pre-proposal deadline.
  • Ensure compliance with National Rules (State Aid/Non-State Aid) and relevant Partnership regulations. Rolling applications accepted, subject to funding availability. Early applications are strongly encouraged!

The next JTC opportunity falls under the Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETP).

What is CETP Joint Call 2025? This call aims to foster collaboration between industry, research institutions, and local actors to accelerate the transition to clean energy.

The pre-proposal deadline for the CETP Joint Call is 20 October 2025, and to apply as a self-funded partner with the support of Xjenza Malta (A2P Scheme), you can work backward from this date, and follow the time-frame here below:
