Testing of the generators at the Biomedical Building will be carried out by Estates & Works on Friday 16 September. The test will run from 08:00 to 08:30.

Estates and Works would like the collaboration of all employees, in the above-mentioned areas, by adhering to the following:
- all Laboratory Technicians are to switch OFF any equipment that will not withstand or may incur any damage due to a change over from Mains to generator power and vice versa, if not connected to the UPS power supply
- PC’s that do not have an uninterrupted power supply (UPS) would ideally be switched OFF from the power plug (for those who have a UPS this would be the best time to test this)
- sophisticated/sensitive equipment too must be switched OFF during this procedure, unless it is connected to a UPS.
