Ethnologue: Languages of the World is an authoritative resource on world languages. It contains up-to-date web-based information on 7,097 living languages, many of which are lesser-known ones, and provides details on population, dialects and usage.
Information on all three of the official languages of Malta, Maltese and Maltese Sign Language as well as English, is included. This tool also provides statistics for a given country, region, or the world, maps and family trees.
Access to Ethnologue: Languages of the World is available on campus and remotely to all UM staff and students holding a UM IT Account.
To access this database:
- Visit the Library website www.um.edu.mt/library

- Login via your UM IT Account (top right)

- Click on Databases 

- Ethnologue: Languages of the World is available under Art + Humanities category and in the Databases A-Z page.
