The Main Administration Building serves as the principal administrative avenue of the University, offering numerous essential corporate services offered by the Office of the Registrar, the Finance Office, and the Human Resources Management & Development Office. Additionally, the Offices of the Rector and Pro-Rectors are located within this building.
As expected, the building receives daily visitors, and access is currently unrestricted, requiring no identification or registration. It has been decided that effective Monday 1 July 2024, all visitors (including students) to the Main Administration Building must register at the reception desk prior to entry. Upon registration, visitors will be issued a UM Visitors Pass, which must be surrendered upon departure. This new procedure will apply to all individuals entering the Main Administration Building.
All staff members are exempt from this requirement. Staff need only display their access card or their virtual card on the MyUM app to proceed without registering. If accompanied by non-staff members, staff must ensure that their guests register accordingly.
This procedure does not apply to VIP visits, as these delegations are typically escorted by representatives from the International Office, Marketing, Communications & Alumni Office, or the Conferences & Events Unit.
The implementation of this new procedure aims to ensure that only authorised visitors gain access to the building. Your cooperation in helping us enforce this procedure is greatly appreciated
