The deadline for the Young Inventors Prize application is approaching fast - so don't forget to apply!
The global prize is open to innovators (individual or group) of any nationality, aged 30 and under. Any idea, project or product in any field of technology may be proposed, as long as these initiatives use technology to solve a problem within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Ten Tomorrow Shapers will be shortlisted with voting split between a panel and members of the public.
The award is split into three categories:

- World Builders: Solutions which help to ensure we have things like water and energy in a sustainable way.
- Community Healers: Solutions that ensure equal access to food, education, and decent work, preventing discrimination in any of its forms.
- Nature Guardians: Innovations designed to protect endangered species both on land and in water, with the goal of preventing ecosystem damage and mitigating the effects of climate change.
Each proposal must be accompanied by supporting information that is already in the public domain. More information about the entry requirements can be found online.
Applications must be submitted by Friday 27 September 2024 via the EPO online portal. After submitting your proposal, kindly email the UM Knowledge Transfer Office with the nominated inventor and technology.
