The Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) is looking for enthusiastic student representatives to join the Internal Quality Review (IQR) panels as part of the Periodic Programme Review (PPR) process for the 2024/2025 academic year.
This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience, contribute to the continuous improvement of academic programmes, and have your involvement formally recognised on your transcript.
What is the Periodic Programme Review (PPR)?
The PPR is a key element of the University of Malta’s commitment to academic excellence. Every five to six years, all academic programmes undergo this comprehensive peer review to maintain high-quality standards and ensure they continue to meet the needs of students and society. This process aligns with the National Quality Assurance Framework for Further and Higher Education in Malta (NCFHE, 2015).

About the IQR Panel
The IQR panel will be chaired by the Pro-Rector for Quality Assurance or their delegate and will include:
- Two Deans or Directors from outside the reviewed Faculties, Institutes, Centres, or Schools (FICS)
- Two Members from the Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) and/or Quality Support Unit (QSU)
- Two student representatives from outside the FICS under review
What Are Your Responsibilities?
As a student representative, your main duties include:
- Actively contributing to panel discussions and meetings.
- Providing meaningful feedback on programmes under review.
- Attending and participating in scheduled review meetings.
- Adhering to established policies and procedures.
Who Can Apply?
All current students are welcome to apply. Students who hold the role of Student Representatives on a UM and/or FICS Board/Committee and students who participate in Senate-recognised student societies will be given preference.
