Special issue guidelines

Special issue guidelines

Since PDE publishes twice a year, Special Issue proposals should ideally be submitted 8-12 months ahead of the planned publication date to permit sufficient time for review by editors.

All articles submitted as part of a Special Issue will need to be blind peer-reviewed except Book Reviews and submissions indicated for non-peer review consideration.

A proposal for a journal Special Issue should include the following components:

  • Theme, Scope and Rationale for Special Issue
  • Guest Editor Information
  • Abstracts and Author Bios for at least 3 articles (peer-reviewed)
  • Proposed Timeline for completion of special issue
  • References
  • Proposals containing all these components vary in length between 3000-5000 words (not including references)
