Researcher in museology, history of archaeology and reception of Christian antiquity. She has been CONEX-Plus-Marie Curie Fellow at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and professor of Museology at the Pontifical Institute of Christian Archaeology, where she received her PhD in Museology and History of Early Christian Archaeology in 20118. She got her BA and MA in Museology at the University of Pisa. Her research themes have always focused on museum history and Christian museums, history of archaeology, particularly Christian archaeology in the Mediterranean with an interdisciplinary perspective and attention to archival sources. Her work and teaching activities follow her specific university training and have been carried out in the field of museums and the promotion of cultural heritage in Italian and European institutions. Both in the field of museology and the history of archaeology, she has international experience reflected in an extensive list of publications in all major European languages. She collaborated with several universities and museums in Italy, Spain, Malta, the Vatican Museum and with the Italian Council of National Research. She is also part of several international research groups and leader of a research project concerning the rediscovery of Italian and Maltese catacombs in the early-modern times. She is member of the Römisches Institut der Görres-Gesellschaft, the Associazione Italiana per lo Studio e la Conservazione del Mosaico, the International Council of Museums, the Instituto de Historiografía "Julio Caro Baroja", The Malta Historical Society.
