Dr Colin Borg graduated from the University of Malta, specialising in Private and Public Sector Management at an undergraduate level and Public Policy (Governance) at postgraduate level. He successfully completed his Ph.D. degree in Governance and Public Policy.
Dr Borg is the Academic Registrar of the University of Malta. He joined the main higher education institution on the island as a Graduate Trainee in 2002. In 2007, he was assigned to the Academic Programmes Quality and Resources Unit (APQRU). As from January 2012 onwards, Dr Borg formed part of the Office of the Registrar as an Assistant Registrar and eventually as a Deputy Registrar responsible for SIMS Office, the Doctoral School and several operational initiatives that the University embarked on. In addition to his work at the University of Malta, Dr Borg worked at the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) between 2005 and 2007, gaining experience in bilateral programmes, EU funding, project management and organisational techniques. Dr Borg is also extensively involved in the Educators Board of the Institute for Public Services (IPS) and was one of the ex-ante evaluators of the Maltese Public Service.
Dr Borg also lectures at the Department of Public Policy, at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. His lecturing portfolio extends from Governance to Political Thought and Public Management. He has an experience of fifteen years lecturing at a University level.
Dr Colin Borg published both locally and internationally in peer-reviewed journals especially in higher education governance.
