I am an Assistant Lecturer at the Centre for English Language Proficiency. I lecture on the ECA programme. My main research interests are in sociolinguistics, in particular critical discourse analysis, discrimination, and language and identity.
Having completed the Cambridge Delta during my career in the EFL industry, I read Linguistics at the University of Malta prior to doing a Master’s in English at the University of Oxford. Subsequently, I returned to the University of Malta, where I completed a Ph.D. in Linguistics. The main focus of my thesis was xenophobic discourse in Malta, in particular, discrimination and hate speech directed at migrant communities.
