Dr Stefano Filletti graduated with a Bachelor of Laws, Diploma of Notary Public and Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta. He furthered his studies in international law and law of the seas at the International Maritime Law Institute (IMO) where he was awarded a Masters of Law Degree with distinction. As a Chevening Scholar he read law at the University of Oxford where he was awarded a Masters of Law Degree in Criminal Law (M.Jur) with distinction. He was also awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree from the University of Malta.
Dr Stefano Filletti is a resident lecturer at the University of Malta in Criminal law and also a visiting lecturer at the International Maritime Law Institute (IMO). He is the co-editor of the New Journal of European Criminal law published by Intersentia, co-editor of the Mediterranean Journal of Human Rights published by the Faculty of Laws at the University of Malta, andco-editor of the journal Law and Practice published by the Chamber of Advocates (Malta).
Dr Stefano Filletti is in private practice and has held various positions of trust. He also acts as an advisor to both private and public entities and has held various posts. He Heads the Maltese Delegation to the Council of Europe - European Committee on Crime Problems (CDPC). Dr Filletti is also the Head of Department of Criminal Law within the Faculty of Laws at the University of Malta.
