[OPEN] 6TH Call for STSMs

Published on 19/01/2022

Dear MyWAVE members,

We are now ready to launch the sixth call for STSMs that will run through this last grant period, until September 2022.

The focus of this call stems from our last MC meeting, during which an overview of the objectives was provided, highlighting any pending work towards achieving specific objectives. Therefore, for this last call we are highlighting the topics below and any STSM applications related to the following topics will be given priority for funding. Other topics in line with the overall challenge of the project will still be considered.

– To investigate the physiological changes that occur when cells reach the thermal threshold (i.e., at the instance of cell death) and how this impacts dielectric and thermal properties of the cell/tissue.

– To collect accurate dielectric and thermal data relevant to the topic of thermal-based EM technologies.

– Measurements of thermal properties or any relevant topic

– Investigate the impact of local perfusion on temperature distribution and how this changes as a function of tissue temperature, to support TP protocols (WG2)

– Investigate current and innovative clinical needs to be addressed with EM thermal-based therapeutic technologies, highlighting challenges and deficiencies. (WG2 & 3)

– To analyse tools and techniques that are being used for planning and guiding HT treatments in other modalities such as Ultrasound.

Applications need to be submitted on the e-COST portal and these will be accepted and evaluated as an on-going process. Notification of acceptance will be sent up to two weeks after submission, so STSMs should be planned allowing for this time.  All STSMs must be completed by mid-August 2022.

Also, please be reminded that we still accept expressions of interest for hosting or participating in a STSM as outlined overleaf.

We look forward to your submissions.

Kind regards,

MyWAVE Team
