Theresia has concluded a Bachelor of Science in Business and Computing from the University of Malta and is currently working with one of Malta’s major IT firms. From a young age Theresia was curious on how the world around us works and particularly interested in IT and Business areas. She was always fascinated by Science as a means that helps us to understand, improve and discover better ways of doing things. Moreover Theresia has been involved in drama for the past 9 years and considers herself as an ambitious, adventurous, optimistic and tenacious person. Furthermore she believes in a good work-life-balance, in fact she has a variety of hobbies including swimming, music, watching movies, Travelling and Art. Theresia has a passion for animals and environment related issues and always strives to learn new things on a variety of topics.
"Presenting this program made me realize that there are a number of Maltese, working both locally and abroad as scientists that are actually making a prominent name to Malta. This experience not only helped me to grow academically and learn what kind of research is carried out on various science related topics but also helped me to develop at a personal level."
In Theresia’s opinion a career in Science not only offers a high-quality job with good conditions but also a lot of opportunities and a high degree of satisfaction in knowing that with your services you are contributing to the Society.
Corazon is a 21 year old student, currently in her fifth year pursuing a law degree under the University of Malta. Beyond her studies, Corazon fills her schedule to the brim with extracurricular activities which include playing the piano, painting, songwriting and singing weekly on a popular TV show. Corazon clearly has a passion for the arts and the media, together with a deep interest in science. This explains why Corazon was very excited about her participation in “X-lab” because this program successfully manages to interweave both together. Corazon’s spontaneity and jovial nature moulds itself well into a production aimed at young people, and introduces an element of fun into a program which is primarily intended to be an educational one.
"X-lab meant a learning experience," comments Corazon, "on many different levels: an academic one, but also an experience for life." She continues, "The program gave me the opportunity to work with such great persons, and to be able to learn so much from them. Here I am talking about the camera crew, the director and the production team, but also more specifically about the tens students that I have worked with, who have managed to teach me so much, besides being great fun."
Hi! Stop wondering. I present the TV series "XLAB - Plugged In", CyBC’s forthcoming science programme, of course! I am Stalo Mytidou. I was asked to put down to paper a few things about myself; although I do believe, that in my case, words fail to capture my personality! I’m intelligent, handsome, have loads of friends and I am a Physics student at the University of Cyprus! What more could you wish for?
Why did I ever decide to dabble in TV presenting and what’s more, a science programme? Simply because I like travelling and meeting new people with whom I may share the same interests; Oh, and last but not least, endlessly tease my co-presenter, Stelios Matsentides, who thinks he’s a "know-it-all". He, he, he, he’s neither here nor there. Just kidding you. I am the one telling him everything he needs to know. But the ungrateful Stelios still accuses me of making fun of him (who, me?), with the delightful contribution of course, of the two female programme producers. I know why he’s doing all this! It’s not my fault if he had to dress up in a knight’s armor and battle a puddle on the central most point of University campus. Or because he had to walk around Nicosia’s main shopping centre, with water wings on. Its all NONSENSE I say! Boys will be boys!!! No respect, none whatsoever. Wasn’t it enough that we gave him the time of day and let him be the co-presenter of the show? On top of that, he is full of himself! Mark my words; I’ll give him a piece of my mind any day now and then he’ll really be out of place! I take the leading part in the show naturally. This is mostly because I don’t have to make a mockery of myself in front of everybody, particularly my fellow students but get to travel in all these enchanting exotic destinations.
Alright, alright, I am lying! I am only going as far as London! But still, the thought of Stelios being left all alone in Nicosia, eating his heart out, is enough to make my journey extremely gratifying! See you Stelios, ta ta. If you wish to idolize me and mock Stelios and his accomplishments, just tune in to CyBC and catch our show "XLAB – Plugged in!" See ya all!
Have you ever experienced the ultimate humiliation? Have you ever wanted to be someone else? Have you ever felt that the earth should open up and swallow you whole? Well good for you, cause I have! I have!
Welcome to “XLAB – Plugged in”!!! Should I introduce myself? As you’ve gathered by now, I am the one who always gets the wrong end of the stick. Before being called upon to present this show, I faintly remember being a Physics freshman at the University of Cyprus. I go by the name of Stelios Matsentides, and I am 20. Ever since I first “Plugged in” my life’s changed... Not that I am complaining, the experience I’ve gained from Television is certainly invaluable and the things I’ve learned quite important!
Unfortunately though, I’ve become a victim of a put-up-job by the Women’s Liberation Movement. You see, the scriptwriter, director and producers are women. Not to mention, of course, my co presenter, who, mind you is already on her high and mighty horse! She thinks she runs the show. And she’s quite right you know, since she gets to do all the fun stuff. (She even gets to travel to London!!!)
Poor me, the embarrassment I had to go through...
How can I ever forget the time I was forced to dress up as a knight and a human condom!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And where might I ask you? The centre of University Campus, with dozens of fellow students watching! Not to mention that other time that according to the script, I had to walk around in the centre of the capital with water wings on! And how about the time I was hand cuffed and arrested by police?
I am sure, that by the end of filming, Stalo’s wicked little mind (that’s my co presenter) will come up with a zillion ideas, just to put me through all kinds of torment! You see, don’t tell anyone, but she’s the producer’s pet! Let us just hope I will survive these three women’s malicious goings on and be actually able to face my fellow students, after all this. A word of advice everyone... And I really do mean this, despite what I have to suffer: Just go ahead and “Plug-in” and I promise that you will definitely be charged on the most amazing circuits...
"See Ya…!!!!!"
