Entry into undergraduate (Bachelor's degree) courses:

To be considered for admission and to satisfy the University’s General Entry Requirements you need to present the Zeugnis der Allgemeinen Hochschulreife / Abitur including final written and oral passes in a language other than English, a humanistic subject, and a science subject (preferably Mathematics) in the final year of studies. If not presented in the final year of studies, the language other than English and Mathematics may be considered from the penultimate year.

Entry into courses having Special Requirements:

Any applicable Special Course Requirements will be satisfied if you present acceptable grades (see comparability of grades below) in final written examinations in the Abitur for the required subjects. These requirements can be accessed in the respective course overview in the UM’s Course Finder.

Entry into capped courses, the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery course, and the Master of Dental Surgery course:

When applying for such courses, applicants would be required to fulfil the UM’s General Entry Requirements and Special Course Requirements as per above. These requirements can be accessed from the respective course overview in the UM’s Course Finder. The entry requirements for the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery, kindly refer to the course Evaluation Criteria.

Entry into postgraduate (Master's degree) courses:

If you are looking to apply for a Master's course, we recommend referring to the specific requirements indicated on the Course Finder. In most cases, you must possess an undergraduate degree at a certain classification/GPA, depending on the chosen course.

Applications for Master's courses are always assessed on a case-by-case basis following the receipt of a complete application.

English language requirements:

Applicants are also required to fulfil the University's English Language Requirements by means of a valid Secure English Language Test. Access more information in this regard. Alternatively, a pass at grade 10 in English as a final written examination in the Abitur, may be accepted in lieu of the above mentioned English test.
