To be considered for admission and to satisfy the University’s General Entry Requirements you need to present the National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3 with New Zealand University Entrance, awarded with an overall average grade of Merit or better, and good passes in a language other than English, a humanistic subject, and a science subject (preferably Mathematics) in the final year of studies. If not presented in the final year of studies, the language other than English and Mathematics may be considered from the penultimate year.
Any applicable Special Course Requirements will be satisfied if you present final year passes with Merit or better in the subjects stipulated as Special Course Requirements, except for English Language. These requirements can be accessed in the respective course overview in the UM’s Course Finder.
When applying for such courses, applicants would be required to fulfil the UM’s General Entry Requirements as per above, and separately present passes in the applicable Special Course Requirements from the Maltese examination board, MATSEC, or comparable examination boards, at the level and grade stipulated in the respective course regulations or bye-laws. These requirements can be accessed from the respective course overview in the UM’s Course Finder.
If you are looking to apply for a Master's course, we recommend referring to the specific requirements indicated on the Course Finder. In most cases, you must possess an undergraduate degree at a certain classification/GPA, depending on the chosen course.
Applications for Master's courses are always assessed on a case-by-case basis following the receipt of a complete application.
Applicants are also required to fulfil the University's English Language Requirements by means of a valid Secure English Language Test. Access more information in this regard.
