In order to be considered for admission and to satisfy the University’s General Entry Requirements you need to present:
3 GCE Advanced Level passes at Grade B or better (BBB). Such subjects must include passes in a language, a science, and a humanistic subject; and
3 GCSE level passes at grade 4 or better in English Language, a language other than English, and Mathematics (if not offered at a higher level).
When choosing a course having Special Course Requirements, the above GCE Advanced Level subjects should also cover the subjects stipulated as Special Course Requirements, at the required grades. Additional subjects may be required. These requirements can be accessed in the respective course overview in the UM’s Course Finder.
Additional subjects and higher grades may be required to satisfy both the General Entry Requirements and the Special Requirements for certain courses such as the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery course and the Master of Dental Surgery course. These requirements can be accessed in the respective course overview in the UM’s Course Finder.
Information regarding the comparability of grades awarded by UK Examining Boards with the grades awarded by the local MATSEC Examining Board is available online.
Applicants are required to present official documentation confirming that their secondary and post-secondary education was pursued outside of Malta.
If you are looking to apply for a Master's course, we recommend referring to the specific requirements indicated on the Course Finder. In most cases, you must possess an undergraduate degree at a certain classification/GPA, depending on the chosen course.
Applications for Master's courses are always assessed on a case-by-case basis following the receipt of a complete application.
