Erasmus Mundus is an EU programme that offers high-quality graduate courses that are shared between consortia of universities in various different fields. The LCT (Language and Communication Technology) programme is shared between Universities in the LCT Consortium, each of which is coordinated locally.

At the University of Malta, the local study programme leads to the award of the European MSc in Human Language Science and Technology (HLST) and is coordinated by the Department of Artificial Intelligence and the Institute of Linguistics and Language Technology, in collaboration with other ICT Departments (Computer Science and Computer Communications Engineering).
