Clients' voices

Clients' voices

A poem by a former client, who wished to remain anonymous.

A girl is locked inside my body
A girl so fragile you will see
The past keeps her from thriving further
A soul so damaged as it can be
She is scared and she is angry
The memories keep her from surrendering
The vulnerability she's scared of showing
The brokeness she's scared of breaking
She'll let no one close to entering.
Her flaws are perfect as it can be
The scars show what's she's been battling
The anger and resentment of the past
As she learned early in her life
That she's an outcast.
Left thinking about her value and if she'll make it in life
But the monsters breath down her neck while pointing a knife
"Your life shall be made,a living hell, for I am the monster, that came to drag you in a cell,
You shall suffer as I did
For you deserve no better
Welcome to show,

I am the mad hatter"
