This sub-committee coordinates the work of the Digital Education Facilitators appointed in Faculties, Institutes, Centres and Schools to promote and support the adoption of digital education, including blended and online learning, within study-units and programmes of study.

ESDEC is a joint sub-committee of the Digital Education Committee and the Programme Validation Committee.  It reviews new or modified study-units and programmes of study which are offered fully online or blended. In addition, ESDEC provides feedback and guidance to proposers or potential proposers of online or blended study-units or programme of studies.

The e-Assessment sub-committee provides advice to the Digital Education Committee on the adoption and best practice use of mainstream educational technologies for assessment and plagiarism avoidance and detection.
