The concepts of equity, diversity and inclusion work together, and reinforce each other. When we treat people equitably, we are being inclusive, allowing everyone to participate in what we are saying, doing and deciding, as a group or an institution.
If we include everyone, then we will have a more diverse group of people, which enables us to gather many different ideas, knowledge and ways of seeing and doing things, so that the end result will represent the ideas and contributions of everyone.
We all need to practice these values, whoever we are, and whatever our role is at University and in society.
