UM is committed to improving equity, diversity and inclusion on campus and beyond, to foster these concepts and inspire social change.

At the Equity Office, our vision is to ensure that equity, diversity and inclusion are truly embedded within all levels of the University.

For this reason, the Gender+ Equity Plan 2022-2026 was developed, and approved by the University Senate and Council, setting out concrete goals for improving equity, diversity and inclusion at UM.

The Equity Committee, which is chaired by the Pro-Rector for Staff and Student Affairs and Outreach, directs the work of the Equity Office in implementing the plan.
