Professor Maria Attard participated in the China International Symposium on New Approaches to Transport and Urban Sustainability. She delivered her presentation on The potential of Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI) on future transport systems.
Professor Maria Attard was invited to give a presentation on The Future Sustainability of Transport in Malta during the seminar organised by the German-Maltese Business Council within the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry on sustainable mobility in Malta. Times of Malta article
ICCSD submits its feedback to the National Transport Strategy 2050 and the Draft National Transport Master Plan 2025 published by Transport Malta.
A Special Issue of Research in Transportation Economics entitled Climate Change Targets and Urban Transport Policy edited by Prof. Maria Attard (University of Malta), Dr Lucy Budd (Loughborough University) and Dr Robin Hickman (UCL) is published. This follows the International Conference organised by the ICCSD of the University of Malta in April 2015 at the Valletta Campus.
The Institute received funding from the University's RIDT Grant Scheme for the project Understanding traffic patterns and travel behavior to support sustainable mobility, led by Prof Maria Attard and Prof Adrian Muscat.
The University of Malta and the Vodafone Malta Foundation launched a research project to prototype and test technology for Shared Demand Responsive Transport Services. The Vodafone Malta Foundation is part-funding the project through its Mobile for Good Programme, the aim of which is to explore innovative ways in which mobile technology can deliver social change.
