The University of Malta launched its Green Travel Plan at an event on the 27th of September 2011. Following the launch a GTP Committee was setup which is composed of the following members.

  • Nathalie Cauchi (Non-academic and support staff representative)

  • Raphael Mizzi (GTP Co-ordinator, Institute for Climate Change & Sustainable Development) 
  • Prof Luciano Mulè Stagno (UMASA representative)

  • Perit Christopher Spiteri (Director, Estate and Works) 
  • William Farrugia (KSU President)

 

The Government has identified Green Travel Planning as an important tool to achieve sustainability. An example of how Governments are implementing similar initiatives include the UK Department of Transport  link to travel planning.
