This dissertation will analyse the fundamentals of Representative Democracy, the doctrine of Collective Ministerial Responsibility, the effects of a Member of Parliament voting against the party whip, votes of no confidence and resignations in Malta, constitutional conventions and positions of trust Questions asked during this dissertation Should the Constitution allow technocratic Ministers? Does a Member of Parliament’s right to vote against the Constitution derives from the Constitution?
