Abstract: The purpose of this study is to find out the different experiences, situations and problems which parents face and have to struggle with when they have a child who is dyslexic. This subject is of increasing concern because given the correct information and sources, parents can deal and tackle such situations with less difficulty. Controlling and dealing with the behaviour of children with learning disabilities can be challenging at times and parents should know how to manage such situations. This dissertation focuses on looking at different perspectives from different people and the aim is to see the long-term effect which their past and present experiences have had on them. This research study will meet the proposed aims through an extensive study of relevant literature and the implementation of practical research. The latter will be carried out through semi-structured interviews following the narrative approach with four sets of parents who form part of the Malta Dyslexia Association.
