IMC plan for 2013 to promote sexual health hand in hand with the G.U. Clinic (part of the Government Health Service) in Malta

Abstract

The IMC plan proposed would be useful in helping to solve a public social issue that is to be addressed. A healthy society is what matters most. Therefore, by empowering the public to make positive health choices we are encouraging positive attitudes and behaviour towards a healthier Malta and Gozo. Since the G.U Clinic forms part of the National Health Service and is free to the public, it should be known as a specialist clinic with its main aim to put the nations' health first. It should be synonymous with any sexual health promotion campaign across the Islands. This could not have been a more perfect timing for the sexual health campaign launch with so many changes going within Malta's healthcare industry. The new Sexual Health Policy published last year (2011) serves as a guide and indication of all the advancements that are set to take place within the coming years. It is a very promising time for the G.U clinic, those involved and also for everyone who will benefit from the services offered. The positive theme of the campaign 2013, "Love Yourself First' is a statement which urges the public to take full advantage of these services for all aspects relating to sexual and reproductive health.
