Abstract: | Nahla Abdo is a prominent Palestinian peace activist currently residing in Canada but who has been carrying out consultancy work in Palestine with the Palestinian Ministry of Women Affairs. In this interview she discusses a whole range of issues with regard to Middle East politics, the women's movement in the Arab world, Islamophobia, Islam, peace prospects in Palestine, the post-9/11 situation, multiculturalism, curriculum development in Palestine, religious tolerance and a variety of other issues. She is a Professor of Sociology at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. |
