Abstract: This project aims to confirm that Baroque is not a decadent form of art, but rather with its exuberance, provides an everlasting flow of ideas and techniques that may flourish even in present times. Baroque art itself was intended to be a dramatic and highly expressive form of art and so, through my contemporary art practice, I will try to translate this into new and innovative images that evoke the Baroque idiom. Through my work, I will attempt to get people of all backgrounds to become more conscious of the local vastness of Baroque art which is ingrained in the foundations of our cultural identity. This project will also compare and contrast Baroque art with other art styles from other cultures and will attempt to intertwine varied art-styles and forms into new and original hybrid styles by means of both traditional methods such as painting and digital art software. Such approach will allow me to enrich and develop my creative work through a plethora of ideas pertaining to other cultures. I shall be demonstrating that the Baroque art style is not anachronistic but it can still be a source of ideas even in today’s multicultural social climate
