Abstract: | There are many points I would like to touch on concerning this exhibition, but, in order to keep my introduction short, I will mainly focus on why I think Unni Askeland has named this exhibition: “Friezed… [continued]”. Therefore I ask myself - how can I reconcile the title of the show with the work we see around us? As you are possibly aware, in architecture, a frieze normally refers to any long horizontal decorative panel. A frieze can be found on many Greek and Roman buildings, the Parthenon Frieze being the most famous, and perhaps the most elaborate. |
