Abstract: This dissertation is a systematic literature-based review that investigates the insights into co-teaching both in Malta and internationally. This research examines what type of coteaching approaches are used, how frequently co-teachers use various co-teaching techniques, as well as the factors that influence how often these approaches are used. From the analyses of other articles, it was noticed how the various studies indicate that the components of the co-teaching model were implemented differently by the teachers. The future of co-teaching may hinge on expanding the number and quality of research on the subject, as well as situating co-teaching within the greater framework of school reform and development.
