dc.description.abstract | Overview of topic: Expecting mothers are beholding a lot of stress. This could lead to several difficulties such as building a healthy relationship and bond with the child. In this study, the relationship between the relationship of the mother and of the neurodevelopment of child are going to be assessed and whether these two have a correlation with each other. The Research Question: Is perinatal maternal health effecting the neurodevelopment of the infant or toddler? PICO Elements: The population (P) consisted of infant. The intervention (I) was poor perinatal mental health while comparison (C) was positive perinatal mental health Outcome (O) was the neurodevelopment of the infant. Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria: any mother child pair. Search Outcome: Four papers remained eligible for the study after the inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied. One meta-analysis/systematic review, one systematic review, and two cohort studies were included. Method: Alternative keywords were created using the PICO components. Alternative keywords were coupled with Boolean operators and truncation symbols in a systematic search in reputable databases such as HyDi, CINHAL Complete (EBSCO), PubMed, and Scopus. The PRISMA checklist and inclusion/exclusion criteria weeded out extraneous articles and verified that the ones that remained were eligible. The CASP technique was used to critically evaluate the literature. Results: A meta-analysis, a systematic review, and two cohort studies were among the four papers collected. The findings reveal that a child's neurodevelopment is influenced by the mother's lack of maternal bonding and elevated stress levels. Conclusion: More evidence is required to answer this PICO question. although all four studies leaned towards the idea that lack of maternal attachment and increased stress levels of the mother does contribute to the neurodevelopment of the child. | en_GB |
