Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to critically review the studies on food eco- labels specifically in the research areas of business and management, in order to identify the research gaps and contribute towards a future research agenda. Design/methodology/approach. This review synthesizes and assimilates the knowledge on food eco-label research specifically in the literature domain areas identified as business and management. The approach is a hybrid integrated review that combines bibliometric analysis with framework-based review. Findings. We suggest that future researchers should explore food’s eco-label dynamics and phenomena related to consumer behavior, information, consumer knowledge, environmental concern, trust, packaging, and Willingness-to-Pay as an antecedent factor. In addition to identifying the key research themes and knowledge structure of food eco-label research, this review contributes and adds value to the food eco-label literature in the do- main research areas of business and management, in terms of the quantification extant.
