Abstract: I. Statutes
By authority granted to him in Section 3(ii) of the Royal University of Malta (Constitution) Ordinance No.XXXIII of 1961, the Chancellor has assented to the following amendments to the Statutes:-
Section 2 of Statute 1.7 has been amended to read as follows:
Statute 1.7 Official Languages and Media of Instruction
2. The medium of teaching in every faculty shall be English, provided that the medium of teaching any modern language shall be that same language or English and provided also that Maltese may be used as a medium of instruction in the teaching of Semitic languages and disciplines.
Sub-paragraph (r) in Section 2 of Statute 4.3 has been re-introduced to read as follows:-
Statute 4.3 Powers of the Council
2.(r) to receive, adjudicate upon, and if thought fit, redress, any grievance of the Officers of the University, the teaching staff, the graduates, the undergraduates and any University employee who may have any reason for feeling aggrieved.
