dc.description.abstractConchita è un'opera in quattro atti e sei quadri del compositore Riccardo Zandonai. L'opera utilizza un libretto in lingua italiana di Maurizio Vaucaire e che si basa sul romanzo di Pierre Louÿs del 1898 'La Femme et le Pantin'. La prima rappresentazione fu a Milano al Teatro dal Verme il 14 ottobre 1911. La versione inglese è di R.H. Elkin. La storia si svolge a Siviglia. Conchita Pérez, una povera sigaraia, viene corteggiata da Matteo, ma resiste alle sue avances. Matteo paga a sua madre dei soldi per alleviare la loro povertà. Offesa, Conchita fugge e diventa una ballerina di flamenco piuttosto famosa.en_GB
