Abstract: | This manifesto focuses on young people’s relationship with online information. It provides a short overview of the state of play with the production, consumption and sharing of online information. It identifies issues that need to be addressed by people and institutions in a position to make positive change to the current situation. It proposes ideas and solutions to facilitate a culture of media and digital literacy, critical thinking and renewed trust in the Internet. It encourages young people to take a more activist approach, as responsible digital citizens, to secure and master the requisite skills to navigate the complexities of the digital age - and to apply pressure on those who are responsible for, or in a position to address, the many issues listed in this document. |
